Our first blog post

Hello and welcome to our first ever blog and brand new website!

Let’s start with some introductions, myself (Fay) and my husband (Dan) are taking over Bolehill Farm on the 8th November 2017. Having grown up on the farm over the road, I have grown up knowing Chris and Shirley well – it’s my Dad’s cows who are in the fields at Bolehill. When they hinted they were thinking about selling, we jumped at the chance to make the move, having lived near Wetherby for the last 6 years. Dan is originally from Nottingham. We got married earlier this year in May, so it’s been an exciting but busy year – yet we have lots of energy left in us!

Our family

George is the final member of our family to be moving with us. He is nearly 2 years old and is as cheeky as ever. He has spent the last few months living in my parents’ house so is looking forwards to exploring his new home.

We are thinking about adding a dog to our family. Having met lots of gorgeous dogs over the last few months at Bolehill which has given us a flavour of some of the different breeds and characteristics – we just need to consider what will fit best in our family. We will keep you updated on this and hopefully be able to introduce someone new to you in the not too distant future.

New website and online booking

Our website site is now live, which is so exciting to see – guests can now book and pay online! If you would prefer to book over the phone, this is fine too, just give us a call.

We have a special offer section on our website which is located at the bottom of the homepage.

We’ll also keep our Facebook and Twitter pages updated with special offers. I’m a fan of Instagram too – I love the pictures, so we’ll be adding an Instagram account shortly.

New Adventures

Having recently moved back to Bakewell, we still have lots to discover. We will be sure to share these discoveries with you on our blog and social media. If you have done something in our local area which stands out as particularly special, we’d love to hear about it. Dan is a particular fan of his bike, so hopefully this will be getting some good use. We have a new timber clad cycle shelter and associated wash down area on site for you to use (great for those muddy bikes!).

Winter Plans

We are going to be busy bees this winter – we have plans to open two B&B rooms in the main Farmhouse which we plan to open during the first half of 2018.

If there is anything you would like to ask us, please do!

All the best,

Fay and Dan
