Our Grounds

In all we have over 20 acres of grounds which include 3 large fields, a paddock area (for dogs), guest lawns and a wooded area:

  • Views towards Lathkill Dale
  • Footpath 100 metres away - country walks and pub walks from the door!
  • Walks from the door to Lathkill Dale, Over Haddon, Sheldon, Monyash, Ashford-in-the-water and Bakewell
  • Set aside paddock to exercise dogs
  • Picnics
  • Barbeques
  • 360 degree views from our fields

Cycle Storage

We are perfectly located near to the Monsal, Tissington and High Peak trails for those wanting to enjoy a bike ride or two during their holiday.

We have a specially designed timber clad cycle storage shelter to keep your bike on site. All we ask is that you bring your own cycle lock to secure your bike within the shelter.

There is also a bike wash area next to the bike shed which contains a water tap and hose for your use.

In addition; brushes, buckets and cycle stands are situated in the cycle shelter in order to assist giving your beloved bicycle a much deserved wash down after a muddy day cycling!

If you don't have a bike, or do not want to bring it on holiday, there are a number of places to hire bikes in the area. Please just ask and we would be happy to help.

Games Room

The well equipped indoor games area is ideal for those rainy days or long evenings in winter.  Particularly popular with children

Various fun items within the games room including the below, which are all freeplay, no coins required!

  • Pool table
  • Table tennis
  • Table football

We also have a wide selection of board games and jigsaws which you are welcome to borrow to use in your cottage.

 

 

Internet Access

Free Wi-Fi is accessible within all of our cottages and most locations around the site. There is also a direct internet connection available in each cottage. Please see our terms and conditions for further information. The internet service we provides is designed namely to allow:

  • Access to e-mail from your cottage*
  • General internet browsing from your cottage
  • Look up local attractions from your cottage
  • Keep in contact with friends and family
  • The service is not suitable for gaming, downloading large files and video or audio streaming

(*Note - it may not be possible to send e-mails if you use anything other than a 'web-mail' account i.e. Outlook may not work. Please check with your ISP.)

Welcome Guides

In your cottage you will find a welcome guide which we have written.

This includes all the information which you will need to know about your cottage (remember just ask us if you need anything!), along with recommended places to visit, what to do in the local area along with places to eat.

We also have a walking and cycling guide which has lots of ideas for walks (including ones from the door!) and cycling routes.  These include maps you can take out on your adventures.

We also have introduced a children's section in our welcome guides, so whatever your age, there will be something for you to explore and enjoy in the Peak District.

We have a group dining area with a separate kitchen available for groups to use.

Car Park

There is ample off road car parking spaces, adjacent to the main courtyard, for all guests and visitors.

Although we allow cars into the courtyard to load and unload we try and keep it as car free as possible. We do, however, make exceptions for guests with mobility issues or in exceptional weather conditions.

On-site Owners

We live on site so we are usually around to assist you during your stay if you ever need us.

Whether this is for advice, guidance or a friendly chat!

As they say, no question too big or too small!

Laundry

We have a washing machine and tumble dryer available for guests to use in our laundry area, along with indoor and outdoor drying facilities.

An iron and ironing board is also available.

There is a freezer available for guests who need more storage space than is available in the cottage fridges.

 

Child Friendly

The Peak District has lots to offer the whole family, these are some of our family friendly facilities at Bolehill:

  • Games room (pool table, table tennis, and table football
  • Board games, books and jigsaws
  • Outdoor games shed, with a range games to play out on the guest lawn

We also have a range of equipment which can be borrowed for your stay:

  • High chair
  • Travel cot
  • Plastic plates, bowls and cutlery

 

Locally Sourced Products - delivered to your cottage before you arrive!

A variety of national supermarket chains will deliver to you at Bolehill Farm.

However, there is a new alternative that we can recommend which directly supports local businesses called SaucedHere.co.uk

We love to be able to support local business and hence why this service is being put forward for guests - especially when they sell such great products!

The service offers a full basket of products, hand sourced from the area’s top purveyors (including meats, milk, cheeses, fruit & veg, drinks, ready meals etc), all made available via one flexible delivery to  your cottage. Even items that are not produced here in the Peak District are purchased from the region’s village shops or alike.
