Accessibility
We are situated in a rural locatation and our cottages were converted from old farm buildings which has limited the extent to which we are able to provide accessability to all. Below we have providied information that we hope will help with making decesions on which cottage would be suitable and what to expect during your stay. All of our individual cottage pages include photos along with floorplans. If you have any questions then please do get in touch.
General information about the site
- The car park and courtyard are overlaid with a loose layer of stone chippings of variable depths and the site sits on a gradient with multiple steps around site
- There are steps from the courtyard to access the guest garden, the guest garden is on a gradient
- The games room within the leisure area is accessed via a set of steps on the first floor
- We have a ramp available for access into the group dining area which is within the leisure area
- For those of hard of hearing
- all of the televisions in our cottages provide subtitles
Honeysuckle Cottage
- There are three steps (with handrail) which lead up to this cottage from the courtyard.
- No steps internally
- The bathroom has a walk in shower (there is a step up to the shower)
- We do not recommend this property for individuals with severe mobility restrictions and it is not wheelchair accessible
Bluebell Cottage
- There are 15 steps to the cottage are over 100 years old and are therefore somewhat worn. Although perfectly safe, they may be of concern to the less mobile. Steps have an accompanying hand rail
- No steps internally
- The bathroom has a shower over the bath
- We do not recommend this property for individuals with severe mobility restrictions and it is not wheelchair accessible
Shippon Cottage
- There is a step up to the cottage from the courtyard and one further step into the cottage
- No steps internally
- The bathroom has a shower over the bath
- We do not recommend this property for individuals with severe mobility restrictions and it is not wheelchair accessible
Dove Cottage
- Level access from the courtyard
- No steps internally aside from the door threshold when entering the cottage
- The bathroom has bath along with walk in shower (there is a step up to the shower)
- Internal doors are standard sizes
- This cottage is not wheelchair accessible
Sheepfold Cottage
- There are 6 steps up from the courtyard to access this cottage
- Internally, the cottage is split over 3 levels (see details on the floor plan on the cottage page)
- The bathroom has a shower over the bath
- We do not recommend this property for individuals with severe mobility restrictions and it is not wheelchair accessible
Lathkill Cottage
- There is a flight of seven steps to get to the cottage from the courtyard (all with accompanying handrails)
- Internally, the cottage is all on one level.
- The ensuite bathroom to the twin bedroom has a walk in shower (there is a step up to the shower)
- The main bathroom has a shower over the bath
- We do not recommend this property for individuals with severe mobility restrictions and it is not wheelchair accessible
Derwent Cottage
- Level access from the courtyard
- Internally, the cottage is all on one level
- It has wider than average doorways
- The main bathroom has a walk in shower along with a bath
- A shower stool is available on request
- The ensuite bathroom to the double bedroom has a walk in shower (there is a step up to the shower)
Hope Cottage
- There is a step up to the cottage from the courtyard and step from the entrance into the dinng area of the cottage
- The double bedroom is on the ground floor, with the king size & twin bedroom
- The three bathrooms on the first and second floor
- There is a set of steps dividing the ground, first and second floor
- Small set of steps (with handrail) from the rear cottage door to the enclosed outdoor area
