Cottage Booking - Terms and Conditions
Booking
A booking is accepted when you receive
written confirmation from us with a booking reference.
Please ensure the details are correct and advise us
immediately if there are any errors.
Payment
To secure your booking we require a
deposit of 20% with the balance payable 28 days before the start
of your holiday. If
booking within four weeks of arrival the whole cost is payable
on booking.
Cancellation
In
the event of cancellation deposits are normally non-refundable.
If you have to cancel less than four weeks prior to your holiday
we will endeavour to re-let the cottage (with a £20 cancellation
fee to cover administration and re-advertising costs), but
should we be unable to do so we may charge you the full rental.
We strongly recommend that you take out a cancellation insurance
policy against this eventuality
Arrival
Your cottage will be
available from 3.00 pm on the day of arrival.
You may drive your car into the courtyard to ease the
unloading of belongings after which the car should be parked in
the car park.
Departure
Please vacate the cottage
by 10.am on the day of departure to allow us time to make it ready
for the next guests.
Number
of Guests
The number of guests
occupying the cottage must not exceed the maximum occupancy stated
for that cottage. We reserve the right to refuse entry to the party if this
condition is not observed.
Damages
and Breakages
We do
not accept any responsibility for loss or damage to guests’
personal effects or property whilst staying at Bolehill Farm.
We appreciate that even on holiday accidents do
happen and we would request that any breakages or damage in the
cottages are advised to us so that remedial action can be taken.
We reserve the right of reasonable access to the
cottages at all times but where possible we would advise you in
advance if access is required.
Pets
Damage -
We reserve the right to seek compensation for
any damage and excessive cleaning costs caused by pets and ask
that owners take a responsible attitude to ensuring that pets stay
off the furniture, bedding etc.
General:
-
Please do not
leave your pet(s) in the cottage on their own unless
left in a cage.
-
Please refrain from letting your pet onto the
furniture, bedding etc.
-
Although we have 20 acres of grounds you are
welcome to use it should be noted that we normally have cattle in
the fields over the summer months. As the cattle tend to be
inquisitive about dogs (this can be intimidating at times) we have set
aside the paddock area for exercising dogs.
-
Please keep your pet away from children's play areas
and remove any mess from the garden area.
-
Unfortunately
we are unable to accommodate younger pets (under 9
months) as from past
experience we find that dogs under the age of 6-9 months
can cause disturbance to
others and damage to the cottage.
Smoking
Please note that 'Smoking'
is not allowed within the cottages. We reserve the right to seek
compensation (including consequential loss) for any damage and additional
costs of cleaning (such as curtains etc) caused by a guest
'Smoking' within any of the cottages. Consequential costs
may be incurred where it is not possible to remove the smell of
smoke from a cottage prior to the arrival of the next guest who
subsequently demands compensation from ourselves.
Heating and Electricity Costs
The
all inclusive costs are based on ‘reasonable’ usage of heating and
electricity that conform to our environmental policy. All ‘reasonable’
use of Heating and Electricity is therefore included within the cost of
your accommodation. In line with our environmental policy our computer
systems monitor and record the usage of both heating and electricity and
will at times attempt to regulate usage (summer and winter have
different environmental policy settings – see following tables). We
reserve the right to charge for ‘unreasonable’ usage. Charges will be
made at the current oil and electricity prices plus a £10 administration
fee. An example of ‘unreasonable’ would be where a guest has turned the
heating up to a higher than programmed setting and then gone out for the
day, or has the heating set to a higher than programmed setting
throughout the night.
We appreciate that some
people 'feel' the cold more than others and we do try to be as flexible
as possible and accommodate everyone. However, with the current high
cost of oil and electricity we are now forced into a position where we
have to charge guests an additional 'fuel supplement' if they require
the heating system set higher or 'On' for longer than is set by our
environmental policy. If you do wish us to make adjustments to the
heating please contact us to discuss costs.

the Temperature shown on the Thermostat is the ‘desired temperature’
not the actual temperature. Sheepfold is generally set 3oC
lower than shown above due to the location of the thermostat. The actual
temperatures in the lounge etc are as above.
