Our nearest village is the picturesque village of Over Haddon. Just a short walk across the fields from our Peak cottages. Over Haddon is perched over Lathkill Dale and provides access to the dale for walks either up to Monyash or down stream to Alport. Monyash is about two miles along the road from us and has a great little cafe and a good local pub. The villages of Sheldon (a 15-20 min walk across the fields), Flag, Ashford in the water (one of the prettiest peak district villages) are also only a couple of miles away. The village of Youlgrave which is only about a mile and half away from our cottages is in fact about 4 miles by car (you need to go round the dale) and a lovely work down into the dale via Over Haddon and up the other side and across the fields.

Spectacular villages a little further away (but still no more than 15 minutes from our peak cottages) are the villages of Tissington (famous for its well Dressing, Eyam Famous for its plague connection and Hartington (famous for its cheese shop).

Other villages a little further away (20-30 minutes) include Castleton and Tideswell.
