How to Find Our Peak District Cottages

Bolehill Farm Cottages
Monyash Road
DE45 1QW

From A515 (Buxton or Ashbourne):

Take the B5055 to Monyash carry on through the village passing the Bulls Head on your left. On leaving the village you pass the start of Lathkill Dale on your right. Carry on for about 2 miles and you will pass a left hand turn to Sheldon and Chelmorton. Carry on another 100-200 yards and you will see our entrance on the left. Bolehill is clearly signposted. We are about 3 miles from the A515.

From A6 (Bakewell):

We can be found on the B5055 Bakewell to Monyash road.  From the centre of Bakewell take the B5055 turning to Monyash (up the side of the Rutland Arms Hotel).

The road climbs steeply out of town before reaching open farmland. Carry on along the road and after the Over Haddon turning (follow the road round to the right) you will start to climb again. We are the second farm on the right hand side about 1 mile after the Over Haddon turning. Bolehill is clearly signposted. We are about 2 miles from the centre of Bakewell.

Find us by SatNav

Please note that for some reason, many satellite navigation systems seem to send our guests off on random tours of the Peak District rather than direct them to us. Most postcode-based Sat Nav systems direct you to our neighbour's farm (we share postcodes). We are actually 200 yards further along the road (coming from Bakewell) and on the opposite side of the road (there is a big sign at the bottom of the drive). To assist you in finding us here are some other references that may be useful

Alternatively, if you find Bakewell (DE45) then take the B5055 heading towards Monyash we are about two miles out of town on the right hand side of the road. There is a large sign at the bottom of the drive.

Catching the Train to Bolehill Cottages

Direct to Bakewell:

Unfortunately, Bakewell no longer has a railway station. It was closed down in the 1960s. The route and station are still available to walkers and cyclists but unfortunately, not for train users. There are, however, a number of alternatives available to bring you to Bakewell.

Unfortunately there are no buses from Bakewell that pass our door but taxis are available.

There are regular train services to Buxton from Manchester and then onward connections by bus to Bakewell.

Chesterfield is on the London - York main line and is possibly the easiest route from the North East and South East. There are regular bus services from Chesterfield to Bakewell.

Although Matlock is not a main line station it is connected by a regular rail service to Derby. There are regular bus services from Matlock to Bakewell. For something slightly different you can, at certain times of the year, catch the local Peak Rail steam train from Matlock to Rowsley and then catch the bus to Bakewell.
